Healthcare for Clunkers

The White House might finally get around to telling us how they would approach Healthcare, maybe even offer us some specifics on what the bill would look like, and what they would support.

The only trouble is, what might come out of the White House will probably resemble more of the "Cash for Clunkers" bill than a serious bill about reforming the future of healthcare in our nation.

Not intentionaly of course, but we have to judge the future behavior of our government by their past performance.  So we may get a bill, but God help us when they go to implement it!  Nothing is more scary.  Imagine the line of doctors, lined up outside the "government option" waiting for their payments for the work they've performed.

The only trouble this time is, this time they may not be allowed to get out of the program.  That is the scary part.

I know it is a cliche, but it is very true - those who forget the lessons of history are DOOMED to repeat them.  Don't be deceived, there is no "free" healthcare, we will all pay, in terms of cash AND quality.

Cap & Trade: The Democrat Twilight Zone

Never mind that America is in one of the worst recessions in the history of our country, the Democrat party has decided to introduce (and pass in the House) legislation that will effectively KILL millions of jobs in the United States and introduce the single largest "tax" increase (call it what you will) in the history of our country.

I could say a thousand things and a thousand times how stupid this is, but I will just end it here, and remind you of a quote:

Obama and America's "War of Choice"

This week Barack Obama called the war in Iraq a "war of choice."  That was an interesting choice of words and one the president should really think about.

After all, what was the choice?  Was the choice whether or not to let evil remain in power and ultimately threaten the lives of Americans and freedom loving people in the region, versus going in and taking him out?  Good versus evil, was that the choice President Obama was talking about?  If it is, then the choice was clear and we had no other good option other than to invade.

Congress supported the "choice" at the time with a vote of about 75% in favor and 25% opposed, lest we forget.

Mr. Obama in his typical condescending attitude and holier than thou approach intimated that the option off not invading would have probably been a better one.  The only trouble is that BHO and his liberal friends never have an alternative to offer; instead they attempt to gain the high ground in the argument with cute phrases and platitudes, instead substance and a plan of their own.

Now that BHO is in charge, he has nowhere to hide from his own rhetoric and soon enough the American people with see the results of his "choices."

The Reverse of Dr. King's Dream - A Racist Latina Justice

It is incredulous that the party that preaches to people on how racist our American society is, is itself the leading proponent of people and nominees that see things, not as Dr. King dreamed - in a "color blind" way, but rather the opposite, every thing and every person is judged, not on their merit or the "content of their character," but on how the treat people based on their race.

First of all, President Obama and his team would only interview female prospects to the Supreme Court.  They had made their mind up on what the next justice would look like even before they started the process.  Secondly, amazingly enough once they came across Justice Sotomayor, they made their choice.  Who knows, maybe the taped comments by the judge that “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life” sold them that this lady really could represent a different group of people.

It really is sad that the Dems are so narrow minded and ignorent when it comes to matters of race.  Not realizing that they are perpetuating the very ideals that espouse to hate.

Justice may be blind, but Judge Sotomayor certainly is not.

Get out the Pen - Time for Another U.N. Letter!

Our pot-bellied friend in North Korea is at it again - this time testing a nuclear bomb underground.  The Russian say it was as large as one of the bombs we dropped on Japan during World War II!  With that being the case I'm sure that our letter from the U.N. will be much more strongly worded this time around - yeah, that will show them!

All kidding aside, it is time to see what the Obama Administration is really made of, and how they deal with this crisis will show us and the world.  If they do nothing - i.e., write that strongly worded letter, we will know that Dick Cheney was right, we are much less safe today than we were under the Bush Administration.

If on the other hand they take strong action, including as former Ambassador Bolton suggested this morning, at a minimum throwing North Korea out of the U.N. for its continued violations, then we will see the side of them we did not know they had - tough.

Throwing them out of the U.N. has to be the minimum, several other sanctions and even military pressure are called for in this situation.  Let's hope we don't end up listening to the late night comics mocking a limp wristed response from the Obama Administration like we did last time.

Amendment to the U.S. Constitution: No Tax Cuts for Those Not Paying Them

The idea is simple and concise, those who do not pay taxes should not be given taxpayer money.  The idea holds the essence of fundamental fairness and integrity.  Those that do not pay into the system should not be allowed to take from those that do - that would constitute a redistribution of wealth, which goes against everything America stands for.

"Congress shall make no law in which taxation levies reach a negative status, therefore causing to have more money distributed to individual taxpayers than is paid in.  The establishment of which shall create a system of redistribution which is hereby declared unconstitutional."

We Need Bonuses for Washington Politicians

The outrage this week over AIG bonuses being paid out was deafening.  How dare they?!  How dare they pay people retention bonuses with taxpayer money?!  So the pinheads in Washington proceeded to pass legislation to tax bonuses by 90% for those institutions that receive bail-out money.  With a broad brush Congress is going to paint over the pinhead mistake at AIG, thus taxing all sorts of bonuses in many different financial companies.

Let's be clear, MOST bonuses paid in most companies go to employees who either do a good job themselves, or are part of a larger team or organization that is competent, responsible, and successful.  The whole point of bonuses is to retain good employees who know what they are doing so that your company can be successful in the future.  But congress will have none of that.  Instead, they are under the illusion that these high performers will want to stay on to fix the financial problems just out of the goodness of their hearts, never mind they have families to feed and obligations to meet.

Here's an idea, let's start to offer bonuses for people to join/get elected to the U.S. Government, the U.S. Congress in particular.  That way maybe, just maybe, we can get some high quality, high caliber people who just might know what the heck to do to solve the country's current financial mess (are you listening Tim?).  The better job they do, the higher their bonus.

But I am under no illusion the pinheads will ever get a clue and do something really smart for a change.

So we continually bail out an insurance company that we should have let fail, and we wonder why we have problems with such things as paying out bonuses - give me a break!

Why should you and I have to pay for the risky behavior of banks and insurance companies?  Because our government has no common sense and a socialist mentality.

So the American stock market sinks to new lows, the U.S. Government bails out AIG for yet the fourth time and takes a 40% ownership stake in Citigroup to keep it from failing.  The Obama administration spends a whooping $800billion in an attempt stimulate the economy, and Obama's quirky little budget director Peter Orzhag laughs on the Sunday morning talk shows and says the president will sign a $400billion+ spending bill loaded with 6,000 earmarks and calls it "yesterday's business, time to move on."  If that isn't enough for you - today Hillary Clinton announces we are going to give the Palestinians $900million of money we don't have so that they can rebuild after an attack from our closest ally.

Stupid is as stupid is.  God save America - please!

Bad Stimulus Package Could Have Unexpected Good Results

Can we be honest for a minute?

Most Conservatives agree that the plan before congress right now is a bad one.  Nothing but an overblown pork barrel package that the fat bottomed legislatures threw together to satisfy unions, the unemployed, and low wage workers in the U.S. in a blatant attempt at securing their future votes to keep these yahoos in congress for many years to come.

The enormity of this legislation is mind-boggling.  This will put our children and our children's children in debt for many decades to come.  Unable to pay for the social programs implemented by liberal presidents of past generations.

But like many bad situations, some good could come from it.  If congress indeed does go to the well once again to spend close to a trillion dollars, perhaps they will drain the coffers enough that ridiculous social programs like universal healthcare and socialized medicine will become impossible to pay for - freeing us from the threat at least for a little while.

Liberal democratic politicians live in a fantasy world where they think all they have to do is dream it - and they can have it.  Nevermind that we have no way of paying for it.  The fact is that this kind of thinking was what led to the economic mess we are in in the first place - the "I want it, and I want it right now!" mantality.  Unable to pay for what we want, millions of Americans now default on the loans given to them through the easy money loans of the 90's and 00's. 

The bubble has popped but the democrats continue to live in their past fantasy world of social programs and free money.  Time to wake up from the fantasy once and for all.  Spending/borrowing more money will not end the crisis, it will only delay the recovery.
